My Teaching Philosophy
As a parent, I have the natural protective mother hen instinct. I want all of my minions (aka students, ;) ) to know that they are stepping into a safe environment whenever they are in my classroom. I have no tolerance for bullying of any kind and believe that we should all learn to respect each other as individuals. Also, learning to have an open mind to other people's ideas and opinions is something we should learn to appreciate. Cooperative learning is also something I am very passionate about. When children learn how to work together to come up with ideas and problem solve it promotes higher level thinking. I want to get to know your child's learning style, nurture their educational needs, and watch them flourish with knowledge! Engaging, hands-on activities are so important for our children's curious minds! I believe that we can learn and play simultaneously! Parent-teacher communication is key to your child's success and I will be in your pocket whenever you need me! Please e-mail, text, or call me if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to chat about your child's progress! As a parent myself, I understand wanting to know how my baby is doing in school. I am one of your child's biggest fans and we can do this together!! I am also learning from my students so I can prepare to be the best teacher I can be! It has been a dream of mine since I was in the 2nd grade, so I am so excited that it is finally becoming a reality!
